Income Maintenance Investigator II Position Available In Surry, North Carolina

Income Maintenance Investigator II Surry County DSS 118 Hamby Road, Dobson, NC 27030 Job Summary TSurry County Social Services has an immediate opening for a full-time Income Maintenance Investigator II. The primary purpose of this position is to investigate alleged cases of fraud across all Income Maintenance programs, and to pursue criminal charges as necessary against perpetrators of fraud. Applicants should possess excellent interviewing skills, and be able to interact with other agency employees, clients, and members of the public. Applicants should have thorough knowledge of manuals, rules, and procedures used in determining eligibility across all Income Maintenance programs. Applicants should have good mathematical reasoning and computational skills. Applicants should be able to present information orally and in written form. Income Maintenance Caseworkers use North Carolina’s eligibility system, NC Fast, to regularly input data for the purposes of initial/ongoing eligibility and enrollment of clients in various Public Assistance programs.

MINIMUM EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

An Associate Degree in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, or closely related curriculum and two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or Investigator; or, graduation from high school and three years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or Investigator; or graduation from high school and two years of investigative experience in credit, legal, or law enforcement work plus eighteen months of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or Investigator; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
