Description This position’s principal function is to perform professional investigative work during rotating shifts, 7 days a week to provide quality and timely information to the criminal courts, which supports the judicial decision to release or detain defendants pending trial and to prescreen for indigence.

HIRING SALARY RANGE

 $21.66 per hour to $28.36 per hour ($45,052.80 to $58,988.80 Estimated Annual Salary)

Duties and Responsibilities Pretrial Analyst reviews defendants’ rights, obtain and verify defendants’ information, gathers and analyzes data, and produces a quality summary report to be provided to judges for use in their pretrial release or detention decisions. The Pretrial Analyst’s work is performed under the supervision and direction of the CJCC Project Officer II, but extensive leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The Pretrial Analyst may be designated to report to work during hazardous weather or emergency conditions.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Education:

Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Minimum Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) or more years of Criminal Justice, Case Management or Investigative experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software and various other software programs and databases. Must be able to obtain and maintain NCIC security clearance. Must be able to obtain NAPSA Pretrial Professional certification within six months of employment. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities A qualified applicant must (1) be a Citizen of the United States and over 21 years of age; (2) Four year college degree; (3) have a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a South Carolina one upon acceptance of the position is required; (4) ability to obtain NCIC inquiry certification.
