Description Chatham County Counter Narcotics Team has an opening at the Corporal rank for a Financial Investigator. Use your investigative and accounting skills in cases involving criminal financial activity. Apply today if you meet our minimum qualifications. Examples of Duties Develop a full financial profile of an individual from third-party sources. Trace the proceeds of third-party sources and the proceeds of illegal activity to specific purchases or other dispositions. Provide potential leads from all types of accounting and any related transactions. Prepare admissible and properly documented legal exhibits to allow non-financial experts to understand intricate illegal financial transactions. Collect and interpret data related to individuals and/or businesses under investigation. Testify in state and federal court, when requested. Write reports of findings, attempts to serve legal documents, and related matters for files and inclusion in case development and management. Present facts, both orally and in writing, to be used in grand juries, courts, and other adjudicative bodies. Participate in searches to gather evidence of suspected criminal financial activity. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associate Degree in Police Science, Criminology, or a related field; and Specialized training in computer forensics, financial investigations, and analytical investigative methods; or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer in accordance with the provisions of the Georgia Training Standards Commission or the ability to achieve certification within six months of employment. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team. In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing. Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
