Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field. Two years of experience as a sworn staff member in law enforcement or corrections. Two years of experience in criminal and/or administrative investigations. Completion of Basic Law Enforcement (PBLE) Certification. Completion of Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) Certification. (Entry pay: $55,326.56 and Entry pay with mandate: $64,900.95).
NOTE:
This position is in the Southeast Region and is located at Augusta State Medical Prison in Augusta, Georgia. The selected applicant must reside 50 miles or less from the prison. Please be advised this position is exclusively Facility focused. You will be assigned to work facility only functions as an Investigator by concentrating attention, effort, or resources on the facility itself, its operations, or its specific needs in a broader context. A broader context is often crucial in investigations, as understanding the surrounding circumstances, relevant relationships, and potential motivations can significantly enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of the investigation. Additionally, this is a full-time position requiring a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, must be available to work rotating shifts (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am), including the possibility of weekends. Due to the mission and primary focus of this position, a state vehicle will not be provided at this time.
