This law enforcement position is an investigator in a legal office.

Under limited supervision, investigate Medicaid Recipient Fraud complaints, focusing on recipients’ eligibility for Medicaid benefits. Collaborates with SC Department of Health and Human Services, SC Department of Public Health, US Attorney, FBI, DEA, and other law enforcement agencies. Additionally, may provide administrative support to the unit as needed.

Caseload Management & InvestigationMaintain effective working relationships within the unit and with external agencies.

Attend court and provide compelling testimony in criminal proceedings.

Maintain issued equipment.

Assist with other duties as assigned.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES A

high school diploma and at least eight (8) years of experience as a Law Enforcement Officer with investigative duties. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Necessary Requirements:

Must have and maintain a Class I Law Enforcement Officer in South Carolina or another state’s equivalent certification. Must have and maintain a valid SC Driver’s License. Must submit an investigative writing sample via ; it should be a summary of an investigative report.

Additional Requirements:

Must live or be willing to move within 50 miles of Columbia, SC.
