Recommend allocion of resources, and is responsible for management of fund control points budgeted for several million dollars. Develop both long and short range policies and plans for the District by coordining the law enforcement administrion needs. Represent the law enforcement organizion with executive level officials of Federal, Tribal, ste and local governments, business organizions, universities, the media, interest groups, members of Congress, and congressional committees. Maintain a close working relionship with Tribal officials to communice and interpret programs and policies which affect law enforcement and detention programs. Provide expert counsel, advice, and recommendions to OJS management regarding the operions and management of law enforcement programs assigned to the District. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

: GS-14 : To qualify for the GS-14 grade level, you must have least one year specialized experience or equivalent to the GS-13 Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Division Chief or Deputy Chief level performing the following: 1) managing and supervising a law enforcement program consisting of criminal investigors, uniformed police offices, and correctional officers; 2) planning, organizing and administering the full spectrum of investigive activities for a law enforcement organizion; 3) representing a law enforcement organizion in the coordinion of multi-jurisdiction investigions; and 4) formuling and revising law enforcement policies and guidelines.

FIREARM REQUIREMENT
  • This position requires th the incumbent meet initial and continuing qualificions in the use of firearms as outlined in the Gun Control Act of 1968, amended by the Lautenberg Amendment of 1996.

  • The duties of this position require modere to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weher.

Manual dexterity with comparively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required.
