Position Summary:
The Hall Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe, orderly, and respectful environment throughout the building, especially in hallways, restrooms, and other common areas during school hours. This position supports the administrative and instructional teams by helping enforce school rules, supervising transitions, and de-escalating minor student issues when appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor student behavior in hallways, restrooms, stairwells, and other high-traffic areas. Monitor Uniform Policies. Ensure students are in class on time and have appropriate hall passes when outside the classroom. Redirect students engaging in inappropriate or unsafe behavior and report serious infractions. Assist with morning arrival, lunch periods, recess, and dismissal to ensure a smooth and orderly flow of student movement. Maintain clear and timely communication with teachers, support staff, and administrators. Assist in emergency drills and provide support during emergency situations. Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Experience working with middle school-aged students is strongly preferred. Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to stand, walk, and be outdoors for extended periods. Must pass a background check in accordance with school policy.
