School Crossing Guard 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Concord, MA School Crossing Guard Seeking a dependable person for part-time position assisting children and directing traffic at school crossings.

Work schedule:
Mon-Fri, Hours:

8:15 – 9:15 am & 3:15 – 4:15 pm.

Pay Rate:

$30.00/hour with 2 hours minimum pay per day. Applications will continue to be accepted and may be considered until the position is filled. All applicants will be notified of their standing in the process as soon as a decision has been made regarding their individual application. Appointment of the final candidate will be contingent upon the results of pre-placement conditions including a criminal record check, a physical exam, and a drug screening. GENERAL SUMMARY

School Crossing Guards are responsible for directing traffic at assigned crossings to protect school children and to provide for the orderly movement of traffic.

Essential Functions :

External and internal applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled as defined under the Americans With Disabilities Act, must be able to perform the essential job functions (as listed) either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined by management on a case by case basis. Report directly to the assigned crossing stations, be on time and remain until the conclusion of the assignment. Ensure that children use the proper crossing locations and that no children are in the street while traffic is moving. Use signs, hand signals or flags to warn drivers of traffic hazards. Be alert for the presence or potential traffic hazards in the area surrounding the assigned crossings. Submit to the Safety Inspector a written report of any such hazards with a recommendation for remedial steps to be taken. Performs other tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to interact effectively with Town Officials and the public. Ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly with the public, even in difficult interactions. Ability to work independently in the field in compliance with direction of supervisor and department policies and procedures.

Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities shown above is qualifying.

PREFERRED
Qualifications :

Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
