The purpose of this job is to monitor student behavior and assist students during lunch.
Responsibilities
Creates a respectful, positive, and pleasant environment in the cafeteria.
Implements procedures and practices that result in efficient entry and exit of students in the cafeteria.
Assists students as needed. For example, helps younger children open milk, packets of ketchup, etc.
Assists students with special needs as appropriate.
Uses positive strategies to redirect inappropriate student behavior.
Follows established procedures for ensuring assigned areas are safe. Works collaboratively with administration, principals, secretaries, staff, and other stakeholders.
Attends work and arrives to work on time.
Maintains confidentiality.
Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge/Education/Experience:
No degree required. Experience working with school-age students preferred.
Skills/Qualifications:
Demonstrates excellent verbal communication skills to deal effectively with students, parents, and school staff. Also has the ability to read and write effectively.
Compensation:
$15 per hour
