Position Overview:
Seemann Composites’ Document Control Specialist is responsible for managing company documents while also ensuring their accuracy, quality and integrity. The Document Control Specialist is also responsible for compliance with records retention policies and safeguarding records until such time that records are to be disposed of.
Reports To:
The Document Control Specialist will report to the Quality Department Manager Essential Job Functions (the following list is NOT in full, but considered to be a reasonable example) Document Control Specialists at Seemann Composites are required to fulfill the following duties: Store, manage, and track company documents. Track documents out for review / approval, the current approval status, training status, and release date.
Assist in writing procedures in proper format and submitting for approval.
Tracking the approval status of procedures and release date of procedures. Assist with development of training material to support procedures. Scan manufacturing documents as needed and organize for each retrieval when needed.
Maintain log of posted documents for revision control.
Assist with audits of Seemann Composites’ management system.
Prepare and report information on business KPIs.
Assist with managing access to approved documents.
Monitor tracking and reporting system and notify appropriate persons when action is required.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or higher education level; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted depending on knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience with a document control system or the management of writing, approving, releasing, and revising documents. Understand the concept of managing access to approved documents and the revision process.
Minimum of (1) year experience in similar role with similar responsibilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Understanding access to local area network and server to manage access to documents
Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
Must be comfortable speaking with others in group settings to facilitate training as needed.
Must be available to work overtime and off shifts if necessary; although, not a regular occurrence.
Essential Physical Requirement:
Work setting is typically in an office environment but you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighting up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, stretching, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing working in enclosed areas, and climbing stairs or ladders. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate. Compliance with safety policies is a job requirement. You will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment when in production areas, although infrequently for this position. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends.
