Luster National is looking for a visionary Document Control Manager to lead and elevate our document management strategy on a high-profile, city-wide initiative. In this pivotal leadership role, you’ll oversee the full document lifecycle across multiple dynamic workstreams—ensuring precision, accessibility, and compliance every step of the way. You’ll be the driving force behind our document control systems, setting the standard for excellence in metadata governance and regulatory alignment. This is a long term, full-time, onsite position located in New York City, New York. Responsibilities Develop and enforce document control processes from creation to final archiving. Coordinate with clients, senior leadership, technical teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely document submission, review, approval, distribution, and revision control. Oversee incoming and outgoing documentation, ensuring correct metadata assignment, versioning, and status. Ensure compliance with program standards for metadata (e.g., Document Numbering, Revision History, Status, Classification). Manage metadata quality across the program’s document repository to support accurate searching, filtering, and reporting. Lead a team monitoring program documentation within a Document Management System (DMS) such as Aconex, SharePoint, or similar. Ensure documents meet internal standards, regulatory, and contractual obligations (e.g., ISO 9001, project specifications). Apply best practices for preparation and maintenance of document registers, metadata reports, and compliance logs. Support internal and external audits by providing accurate metadata logs, version history, and controlled copies. Provide guidance and training to staff on document control processes and metadata standards. Attributes Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in metadata entry and validation. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience 10+ years document control experience on heavy civil highways, roads, bridges, airports, or transit projects, including at least 2 years in a leadership role. Demonstrable experience managing document control across multiple contracts and project phases (design, procurement, construction, closeout). Advanced proficiency with Oracle Unifier. Strong working knowledge of DMS platforms (e.g., Aconex, Asite, SharePoint, or similar) Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital twin concepts and their relationship to document management. Familiarity with ISO standards and quality compliance frameworks. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated document control experience in Rail and/or Transit projects. Proficiency with Bentley ProjectWise. Compensation Details The salary range listed for this role is $124k-$197k/yr ($60-$95/hr.)
