DIRECTOR QUALIFICATIONS
Meets the minimum qualifications required by the K-12 Technology and Cybersecurity Leadership Act Professional training and experience appropriate to the position, which may include: Degree in a technology-related field from a regionally accredited institution Degree in another field with full-time experience in technology support or management High school diploma with at least one current industry-recognized technology certification and relevant full-time experience Effective communication and appropriate interpersonal skills Experience in technology or related field preferred Other qualifications as may be required by the Board

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Compliance Uphold and promote the school system’s mission, vision, and goals Support and enforce school rules, Board policy, administrative regulations, and the Alabama Educator Code of Ethics Maintain professionalism and ethical conduct in all duties and relationships with students, staff, and the community Perform responsibilities in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, and as assigned by the Superintendent, Board, or ALSDE Maintain regular and punctual attendance; follow appropriate attendance procedures Accept no employment that interferes with the effective discharge of duties Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required Professional Development Complete the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Academy within 24 months of appointment Earn 12 CEU hours annually as required by the Alabama Leaders in Educational Technology (ALET) Stay current with emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and instructional integration through ongoing training, conferences, and seminars Strategic Planning & Budgeting Lead short- and long-range planning for district-wide technology and data initiatives, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, instructional integration, staffing, evaluation, budgeting, and collaboration Coordinate and prepare the annual technology budget and amendments Seek and manage funding for technology initiatives, including grants and procurement opportunities Policy, Data, & Compliance Develop, implement, and enforce district policies and procedures related to technology, data governance, and network security Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Oversee preparation and submission of technology-related reports, school/district plans, and E-rate documentation in compliance with FCC and USAC guidelines Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Serve as the district’s primary point of contact for all technology, cybersecurity, and data-related matters Supervise and coordinate technical support, help desk operations, network design and management, cybersecurity measures, and equipment maintenance across all schools and offices Facilitate planning, implementation, and maintenance of district and local wide area networks (LANs/WANs) Instructional Technology & Integration Collaborate with curriculum leaders to evaluate and integrate instructional technology across all content areas Assist in selecting software and hardware that enhance student learning Provide leadership in implementing the Technology Plan, Professional Development Technology Standards, and other state guidelines Professional Learning & Support Plan, coordinate, and deliver professional development to support instructional technology integration, digital literacy, data-based decision-making, and compliance with ALSDE requirements Support district and school staff with data collection, maintenance, and reporting procedures Asset & Inventory Management Maintain accurate documentation of technology assets, including inventories, purchase orders, invoices, and grant-related expenditures
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
: Twelve (12) month contract
