GMC has an opening for Technical Leader to support our Site/Civil in our Savannah, GA office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in engineering projects while assessing project feasibility by analyzing technology, resource needs, or market demand. Your attention Foundational Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the firm’s values and standards for technical excellence and quality Expresses a keen understanding of the industry standards Demonstrates the skills required for effective team contributions to the firm’s success Demonstrates clear expertise in strategic technical arena of interest at GMC Must show level of knowledge above general engineering staff and Project Managers Technical Establish scientific or technical goals within broad outlines provided by top management Evaluate environmental regulations or social pressures related to environmental issues to inform strategic or operational decision making Utilize and educate staff on critical tools for success including software, analysis and research Professional Competencies Client and Customer Focus Present and explain proposals, reports or findings to clients Confer with management, production, or marketing staff to discuss project specifications or procedures Team Orientation Direct, review, or approve project design changes Leadership of State Technical leaders Direct recruitment, placement, and evaluation of technical engineering project staff Coordinates with Vice Presidents and Project Managers to provide technical speakers at state, regional and national conferences Connectivity with other technical leaders to elevate one another Company Perspective Represent the firm in all aspects of technical expertise to prospective employees, clients, and the communities we serve Reinforce GMC standards and Core Values to others Communication Coordinate the work of team members on multiple projects Collaborate with sub-consultants and other project team members Provides guidance related to overall technical objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy matters Continuous Improvement Collaborates in development of new techniques and/or improved processes, materials or products Actively leads GMC committees on technical issues Pursues opportunities to participate in external regional or national committees on technical topics Leadership Leadership of State Technical leaders Service Encourage participation and remain proactive in the Personal Development Plan process and program Hold membership in state and national professional societies Participate in community service activities and understand implications of involvement Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 20 years of experience Master’s or PhD in Engineering Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of technical and contemporary issues
