This Opportunity WSP’s Atlanta Natural Resources Team is seeking an Early Career Ecologist to join our Atlanta, GA office. In this role you will be responsible for a variety of ecological evaluations in support of environmental and engineering consulting projects. In this role you will take part in providing local technical assistance for the collection, identification, and compiling of observational and spatial data concerning a variety of biological, physical, and earth sciences. Provides local assistance for the development of processes and infrastructure relating to water supply, air emission, pollution control, cultural impact, and preserving the quality of the environment by identifying, controlling, and preventing disruption to environmental systems and species caused by human activity. Generates accurate and concise documentation, ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards. Your Impact Participate in jurisdictional wetland delineation. Environmental oversight during construction to ensure compliance with permit conditions. Perform survey methodologies focusing on threatened and endangered species and preferred habitats. Assess potential impacts to wetlands and/or protected species. Conduct entrainment sampling at power generation facilities in support of CWA 316(b) compliance. Support preparation of applications for Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GA EPD) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) permits Monitor wetland and stream mitigation. Local and/or national travel (up to 50% of the time) with possible short-term or long-term assignments at project sites. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Wildlife Ecology, Wetland Ecology, Fisheries, or related field. 0 to 1 year experience, including relevant internship experience. Familiarity with Georgia/Southeastern U.S. wetland ecology, wildlife ecology, and/or botany. Have knowledge in regulatory agency guidelines in the state of Georgia (GA

EPD, GA DNR, USACE, USFWS

). Prior GIS experience. Capable of producing clear and concise written technical documents. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Comfortable with managing a workflow that includes field work and completion of reporting tasks for multiple projects in a timely manner. Capable of working independently and effectively with a team, both office and field settings (dense vegetation, in-stream wading, etc.). Self-motivated, reliable and dedicated individual.

Operation of 4×4 vehicles and comfortable working from boats #LI-AB2
