This position will supervise employees to include prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, training, and making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations. This position will serve as a liaison with other Divisions, Departments, labs, regulatory agencies, and to the public. Monitors permit compliance by Identifying, inspecting, and monitoring industries that discharge wastewater into the Gwinnett County sewerage system. Manage the SSO monitoring program and special sampling for the water reclamation facilities. Conducts annual and follow-up inspections of 54 permitted industries. Oversees and assists in required sampling for permitted industries and surveillance monitoring. Performs annual

NPDES WET

testing, priority pollutant scans, and low-level Hg sampling. Performs annual sampling of biosolids, grit, and screenings for landfill certification. Ensures that IPP and all monitoring activities are conducted in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations. Reviews analytical data and maintains the database for IPP and works with EPD on periodic audits of IPP. This position is a grade

C411. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or Engineering or related field; Three years laboratory experience; Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above; Valid Driver’s License from state of residency.
