- Be part of making an impact in public health alongside dedicated people just like you Job Responsibilities Under supervision, performs duties in all aspects of the environmental health program to include providing services within the on-site sewage management program, well water program and rabies control program.
Additional responsibilities include providing inspections, permitting, and consultations to identify compliance/non-compliance with rules and regulations for food service establishments, tourist accommodations, public swimming pools, and body art studios. Monitors, tracks, and maintains records on compliance. Investigates and responds to complaints of potential health hazards and requests for service. May assist with response to environmental health emergencies and episodes and/or conducts health and safety evaluations. Provides Public Health technical assistance and regulatory interpretation of environmental health codes. Minimum Qualifications Based on education and experience, the selectee will be hired into one of the job codes below. RCP 120
- Environmental Compliance Specialist 1 Entry Salary $42,819.47 1 to 3 years of experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university which included the completion of 27 semester hours (or 40 quarter hours) in laboratory sciences (chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.) RCP 121
- Environmental Compliance Specialist 2 Entry Salary $47,101.
41 3 to 5 years of experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university which included the completion of 27 semester hours (or 40 quarter hours) in laboratory sciences (chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.) AND One year of experience at the lower-level Ph Environmental Compliance Specialist 1 (RCP120) or position equivalent. RCP 122
- Environmental Compliance Specialist 3 Entry Salary $51,811.
56 5 to 7 years of experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university which included the completion of 27 semester hours (or 40 quarter hours) in laboratory sciences (chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.) AND One year of experience at the lower-level Ph Environmental Compliance Specialist 2 (RCP121) or position equivalent AND completion of the Georgia Environmental Health Training class.
