About the Position
Operator Trainer provides technical assistance to wastewater facility operators, managers, regulators, and internal staff. • Designs and conduct technical and non-technical training courses for wastewater treatment facility personnel, agency staff, and officials. • Conducts other duties as assigned by the Division Chief. This is a Non-State, TIME-LIMITED (14) position.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 4-6 years of experience. •

Note:

Experience in Municipal wastewater treatment facilities may be substituted for education through the Mississippi State Personnel Board’s Substitution Panel.

Seasoned Professional Environmental/Natural Resources position that requires deep technical knowledge of an environmental/natural resources area or thorough knowledge of multiple areas and to interpret on a broad basis the principles, theories and concepts of a scientific specialty and regulatory requirements. Employees in these roles are usually regarded as a statewide expert in their area, known outside the boundaries of state government; influence standards at the agency, state, and national levels; prepare and review technical documents to ensure regulatory compliance; provide input and recommendations in legislation and rules; and provide expert testimony. At this level, employees serve as technical leadership, developing and implementing strategies and procedures for the collection, analysis, and interpretation of environmental and natural resources data and information, designing research and forecasting models, and reviewing technical work of others.
