Technical Specialist University System of New Hampshire Durham, NH USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app The Technical Specialist provides specialized technical expertise, training, support, and outreach to local road agencies, highway and transportation crews, and public works teams throughout New Hampshire, as well as provides training and instruction on a variety of topics impacting local road agencies and transportation infrastructure. The position may include 25% travel (primarily in state), and entail a flexible part-time work schedule (Monday-Friday 7a-3p), averaging 10 or fewer hours a month per position. Duties/Responsibilities Outreach includes through the review and development of training resources, informational and technical documents, and review and identification of other appropriate tools and resources for sharing current and emerging technologies and information. Classroom instruction, hands on training, and presentation may include topics in road safety, heavy equipment, environmental, road construction, winter operations, maintenance, and management, workforce development and safety, public works operation and administration, and technical skills. The Technical Specialist will also backup the FT Instructor/Technical Specialist in providing training that aligns with his or her area of expertise.
