Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced Environmental Insurance Consultant to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within our environmental consulting practice. This role is ideal for a technical leader with deep expertise in environmental risk, liability, and insurance mechanisms who thrives in a client-facing, collaborative consulting environment. You will support strategic project execution, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the growth and technical excellence of our environmental insurance services.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Industry Expertise

  • Act as a recognized authority in environmental insurance, providing strategic insight and technical direction on complex environmental risk and liability issues.
  • Contribute to the firm’s thought leadership through white papers, expert testimony, technical publications, and speaking engagements at industry events.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental regulations, insurance products, and emerging risk trends to inform client strategies and internal best practices. Consulting & Project Delivery
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality, timely, and cost-effective consulting services.
  • Lead or support the development of technical deliverables, including insurance policy reviews, risk assessments, and liability evaluations.
  • Provide expert-level review of work products and ensure technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their needs, communicate findings, and develop actionable recommendations. Practice Development & Team Collaboration
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, client presentations, and strategic planning.
  • Mentor and support junior consultants, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Help drive practice area performance by meeting utilization targets, managing project budgets, and supporting operational goals.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental consulting, insurance, or risk management.
  • Professional credentials strongly preferred (e.g., PE, PG, CHMM, LSRP).
  • Demonstrated expertise in environmental insurance products and regulatory frameworks.
Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions.
  • Proficiency in standard business and technical software (e.
