Your role in our success:
The SCADA Specialist III will design, build, and maintain required specialized systems that are regulated by PHMSA to help monitor and control operations and processes of the Company pipeline system(s) independently. This shall include all Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) assets located in the primary control room, backup control room, compressor stations, LNG plants, and throughout the pipeline and distribution system(s) at various sites. This role will focus on high-complexity SCADA projects to include integrating another system (LNG, Compressor Station, RNG Station, etc) and are required to be subject-matter experts for such integration looking at the part as a function of the whole. The SCADA Specialist III tasks include reviewing engineering design plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams including project management, construction, system control operations, and field operations while also ensuring project progression.
What you’ll be working on:
Maintains and deploys SCADA systems and develop/update SCADA Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens in accordance with Control Room Management Plan and
PHMSA/API
requirementsMaintains and deploys computers and servers while overseeing the entire SCADA System(s) infrastructureMaintains and deploys network devices; troubleshoots and updates device Operating System and/or CISCO configurations to maintain compliance and uphold cyber security practicesEvaluates releases of all software utilized through the SCADA System(s), add drivers to talk to specific Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), manages software version and updates as needed, especially to maintain or improve cyber security posture keeping OT and IT separate and secureReads PFDs (Piping Flow Diagrams), P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and network flow diagrams for SCADA architectureTroubleshoots Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Modbus, Open Platform Communications (OPC), and network communication to ensure field data flows through communication tunnels within the SCADA networkProgramming and scripting logic that controls and monitors industrial processes at field sites across all service territoriesDevelops, writes, and maintains all Standard Operating Procedures, related to SCADA operationsProvides recommendations to leadership on upgrades or replacement of various hardware or other infrastructure to improve the system reliability of the SCADA System(s) to include replacements for end of life devicesData analysis of an event or process to help identify and make (automation) suggestions to resolve and prevent future issuesSCADA subject-matter expert when addressing operational procedures for emergencies or other serious events; troubleshoot and test proposed solutions as neededOccasionally performs initial program load for a new RTU or other operations support task as neededLead SCADA resource regarding change controls that may have an impact to the SCADA network; work with applicable BIS team members to test and rollout changes once approvedAssists with department process enhancements and development of department training needs.
Who you are:
Associate’s Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial EngineeringSeven (7) years’ experience in any of the following: Automation Engineering, Process Control Programming Languages, SCADA Systems and HMI Development, Networking and ConfigurationStandard driver’s licenseTwo (2) software-specific certification/training such as SCADA, Kepware, AES/ACM, Talon, FlowCal, etc.; 1 software-sp cific training along with one (1) cyber-security certification/training is acceptablePLCs, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA (Control Systems), Telemetry Data (Real-time and Historical), Networking, OT, ICS, SCADA Cybersecurity, Cisco configuration and commands, Active Directory and Windows OS, Programming and Scripting logic, Processes to obtain data in Real-time from remote devices in order to control equipment and condition of field assetsExcellent communication and organizational skills, strong problem solving skills with a focus on efficiencies and finding new solutions, highly technical roleAbility to work with diverse teams including operations and ITWhat’s in it for you?
