RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure EH&S policies and procedures, as they related to assignments, are followed and documented. This includes strict adherence to management of change, risk assessments, contractor management and permission to perform work on site. Provide technical assistance to the site (e.g. increase of a plant’s availability, reduction of investment and production costs, debottlenecking, quality improvement, etc.) Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks or eliminate obstacles to improvements Monitor, track and report critical success factors as required to satisfy goals or assignments and management requests. Regarding projects involving plant assets, work with operations and maintenance to ensure optimal project success with commonality of spares, use of similar equipment (as applicable), and ensure training is performed for new equipment installation. Interface with internal and external resources to ensure specified goals are met and reported for assigned tasks Develop an understanding of the existing processes and workflows and strive to maximize the performance of the streams. Be willing to investigate other existing or emerging technologies to enhance or replace existing systems Create WO (Work Orders) for equipment needs that are not Emergencies and can be scheduled. Focus of these WO should be to improve the safety, quality, and reliability of the process Support and participate in audits and engage in improvement tools (EPS) activities such as 5S, KPIs, Root Cause analysis, etc Other activities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum BS in Chemical Engineering or other Engineering degree with 5+ years’ relevant experience in Chemical Industry.
Environmental, Health and Safety Impacts of Position:
This position plays a key role in ensuring our compliance with environmental and environmental permit requirements. It has the potential to have significant environmental impact. It will play a key role in carrying out tasks specific to environmental compliance, may have an impact on the basis of safety of an operation classed as high risk within the facility. It is imperative that you comply with all training requirements outlined for this position as designated in the Etowah Site EHS Training Plan Matrix. Demonstrated ability to communicate, plan, organize and document project requirements. Proven track record of success participating in or managing continuous improvement endeavors Knowledge of plant processing and equipment, familiar with multi engineering disciplines. Excel, Word, and SAP a plus. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts such as 5S, Kaizens, TPM, etc. a plus. Understanding of integration of instrument and process control systems and their potential impacts on processes Knowledge of optimization techniques Able to identify opportunities for supply improvements, reliability, optimization and throughput Must understand basic financial concepts as relevant to project development Must be able to integrate work with technology team Fundamental knowledge of distributed control systems (DCS), PLCs, and general instrumentation controls as well as sequencing of processes.
