This role will install and maintain land mobileradio (LMR) equipment in vehicles, offices, and at radio sites acrossthe state. The Specialist will work closely with senior specialists tosupport and troubleshoot LMR systems, including climbing communicationtowers and conducting preventative maintenance to ensure systems arereliable and compliant with federal regulations.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in challengingenvironments. The ideal candidate will need to be comfortable working inextreme weather conditions, navigating remote terrain by 4WD, snowmachine, or on foot, and performing physically demanding tasks likeclimbing and lifting.
This is a hands-on, field-based role with no option for telework, andthe position will be expected to respond during emergency situations.
As of July 14, 2025, the step 1 rate for pay grade 21 will be $24.59per hour.## •Environmental Factors•Incumbents must be able to work under hazardous and/or physicallydemanding conditions (e.g. climbing, balancing, lifting in extreme heator cold, in rain, snow, poor lighting, poor ventilation, fumes, ice,mud, etc.). The incumbent may be working outside during winterconditions or inside a climate-controlled area. The specialist uses4-wheel drive vehicles, snowmobiles, tracked vehicles and snowshoes toaccess remote locations where the electronic equipment is housed. Thespecialist is required to climb communications structures up to 100′ aspart of their duties. The Specialist must be able to lift a minimum of60 lbs.
