Deputy Fire Marshal Randolph County Government Asheboro, NC Job Details Full-time $60,571.93 – $93,104.38 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Qualifications 5 years Senior level Full Job Description Performs difficult skilled technical and administrative work assisting in the supervision and scheduling of the fire code enforcement program, performing fire inspections and investigations, performing quality assurance, issuing fire prevention permits, performing comprehensive and technical plans review of new construction and building systems, preparing and maintaining records and reports, coordinating inspection and investigation training and other related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the direction of the Fire Marshal.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Associates/Technical degree in fire service or related field and five or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Comments:

Assists the Fire Marshal with implementing, coordinating and maintaining operations of the Fire Marshal’s Division of Emergency Services. Assists with hiring, supervising, training and inspecting the work of staff members. Ensures that employees maintain current certifications by coordinating in-service training and ensuring continuing education hours are met. Maintains the fire code enforcement quality assurance program. Attends and represents the Fire Marshal’s Division at various meetings including (but not limited to) PDAT, NCIAAI, NCFMA and RCFA. Conducts annual inspections of existing facilities to ensure compliance with county and state fire codes. Inspects and tests fire protection installations in buildings during construction and at completion; conducts re-inspections as necessary. Maintains appropriate inspection records. Reviews site plans and construction plans; provides technical assistance to architects, engineers, and contractors. Answers public and commercial inquiries. Conducts fire education and fire training for businesses, schools, day care centers and the community at large. Receives and investigates complaints. Assists with pre-incident surveys and planning. Abides by, enforces and participates in the implementation and ongoing oversight of Randolph County Government safety standards and regulations.
