$51,000 at the start of training. Increases to $53,530 after 18-month working test period. $52,252 entry level with AEMT licensure or GA firefighter certification. Increases to $53,530 after 18-month working test period ($1.25 per hour added for Paramedic licensure) MARKET RATE- Lateral hires with GA firefighter certification, GA AEMT/Paramedic licensure, and departmental experience. Equivalency:
Candidates that have any of the following may not need to take the
Accuplacer Exam:
AEMT/ Firefighter certification or Paramedic certification, Accuplacer Next Generation Reading, Writing & Arithmetic passing scores within the past two years. Lateral Program may be considered for candidates with a minimum of a State of Georgia Firefighter I certificate and an Advanced EMT License, or a State of Georgia Firefighter I certification and a Paramedic License.
