Firefighter/EMT Pacific Fire Protection District Pacific, MO 63069 Job Summary The Firefighter/EMT plays a critical role in emergency response, providing life-saving services and support to the communities of Pacific, Catawissa, and Robertsville. The Pacific Fire Protection District is located in a unique response area encompassing 78 square miles. The district covers portions of a major highway, state parks and conservation areas, 20 miles of the Meramac river, industry, and major rail lines. Staffed by 22 paid, full time personnel, the fire district responds to over 1,800 calls annually from two fire stations. Duties Respond promptly to emergency calls for fire and medical assistance. Perform basic life support (BLS) procedures, including CPR and first aid. Assess patients’ vital signs and provide appropriate care based on their condition. Operate firefighting equipment and vehicles safely and effectively. Conduct fire prevention inspections and educate the public on fire safety practices. Maintain readiness of firefighting equipment and vehicles through regular inspections and maintenance. Assist in heavy lifting during rescue operations, ensuring the safety of both victims and team members. Collaborate with other emergency service personnel during incidents to provide comprehensive care. Experience Prior experience or training in emergency medical services is preferred. Knowledge of basic life support techniques, including CPR and first aid. Familiarity with mechanical systems related to firefighting equipment is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during rescue operations. A valid commercial driving license may be required for operating emergency vehicles.
