TEMPORARY FIREFIGHTER

Performs responsible fire suppression, rescue and emergency medical activities including responding to emergency medical calls, operating fire apparatus, and participating in firefighting. Applicants must possess a valid N.C driver’s license. Applicants must be certified as a N.C. Firefighter II, N.C. Hazardous Materials and Medical First Responder (EMT-B preferred). All required certifications can be IFSAC or ProBoard certified. Candidates selected for further consideration will submit a background check, driving record and copy of the required certifications. Candidates will also be required to complete a physical agility test along with participation in an assessment center that will demonstrate the candidate’s knowledge, skills and abilities required of this position Unless prior demonstration of necessary skills approved and accepted by Fire Department leadership. Candidates must get medical clearance from the department’s upcoming physical examination. Starting pay is $22.00 per hour. This is a temporary position.
