Job Description
Firefighter 2 Julian Fire & Rescue 4317 Folger Road, Julian, NC 27283 Job Overview As a Firefighter, you will play a critical role in protecting life and property by responding to emergency situations, including fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials incidents. This position requires physical fitness, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments. Firefighters are also responsible for conducting fire prevention activities and community education programs. Duties Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide firefighting and rescue services. Operate firefighting equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are maintained in good working order. Perform search and rescue operations in hazardous environments. Administer first aid and CPR as needed to injured individuals. Conduct fire inspections and participate in fire prevention education programs. Maintain physical fitness through regular training exercises and drills. Collaborate with other emergency services personnel during incidents. Document incident reports accurately and maintain records of activities. Qualifications NC Firefighter 1 & 2 Certification (NC Firefighter Certification). NC Hazmat Operations Level 1 Responder Certification. NC Emergency Medical Technician Certification (preferred) or NC Emergency Medical Responder Certification. NC Traffic Incident Management Certification. NC Emergency Vehicle Driver Certification.
NIMS 700 & 800. NC
Class B Driver’s License. Capability to perform heavy lifting as required during rescue operations or equipment handling. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. Must meet physical fitness standards set by the department.
