ASPX Lateral Firefighter/EMT:

Credentialed Firefighter Candidates must possess the following certifications prior to applying:

  • IFSAC or Pro-Board NFPA Firefighter II Certification
  • National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (or higher) with ability to obtain South Carolina DHEC Credential within 1 year of date of hire
  • Copy of full transcript and copies of all certificates pertaining to this posting
  • Resume with three (3) professional references detailing work experience
  • SCFA Emergency Vehicle Driver Training or Equivalent
  • Valid SC Class E Drivers License or CDL with tanker endorsement
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SCFA Pump Operations I or Equivalent
  • SCFA Pump Operations II or Equivalent
  • SCFA Aerial Operations or Equivalent Qualified applicants will be required to successfully complete the following prior to employment offer:
  • Candidate Pre-hire Physical Agility Test
  • Oral interview board
  • Firefighter skills and abilities evaluations
  • Medical Physical and Department Vo2 physical, minimum of 30 (condition of employment)
Indoctrination Training:
  • LCFS Culture, Customs and Courtesies and Administration onboarding
  • 6-month probation period post-INDOC course Maintain highest level of ethical conduct and professionalism.

Under general supervision respond to fire, medical, and other calls for service. Provides a wide variety of duties related to fire suppression in order to ensure public safety and welfare. Exercises judgment and safety in all fire and rescue related activities. Works under stressful, high-risk conditions. Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Must be able to obtain all required Driver Operator credentials withing two years of employment. Must be able to obtain Lexington County Medical Standing Orders Credentialing.
