SALARY:
The salary range for this position is $47,400.76 to $74,716.17 for Schedule A, and $47,400.76 to $70,980.36 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B. The Judiciary offers a strong opportunity for growth. JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Ombudsman and EEO/AA Officer, this detail-oriented individual will possess superior communication and customer service skills and will provide administrative support as assigned. The selected candidate will assist with community outreach programs, prepare statistical reports and analyses, and will provide assistance to customers in person, on the phone and in writing.
REMOTE WORK
: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access. Example of Duties Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position. Additional duties include but are not limited to: Answer inquiries from the public. Inform clients or customers about available services. Explain Judiciary policies or procedures to clients or customers. Refer individuals to appropriate federal, state, county or local agencies. Review complaints for routing to appropriate unit, department or individual. Compose routine and non-routine correspondence. Assist with preparing documents for investigations, such as interview transcripts, exhibits and correspondence. Assist with scheduling interviews. Maintain confidentiality when handling highly sensitive and confidential information related to EEO complaints and investigations with utmost discretion. Monitor deadlines for various EEO processes and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies. Assist with the planning and execution of outreach initiatives, including scheduling/tracking participants. Prepare and process various EEO related forms and documents. Input and update information into databases and spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records. Assist the EEO officer with gathering data and composing end of year complaint and recruitment reports. Provide administrative assistance to the EEO officer with workforce analysis end of year reports. Perform related duties as required. Qualifications Three years of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments.
Testing:
Applicants selected to interview must pass an appointing authority administered examination to demonstrate keyboarding skills at the Judiciary standard of at least 25 words per minute, or must have otherwise demonstrated this competency as detailed below. The appointing authority administered examination is waived for the following applicants who have been deemed to possess keyboarding skills at the Judiciary standard of 25 words per minute: All applicants who possess a current typing proficiency certification issued by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission or the New Jersey Judiciary. Judiciary staff that have permanent status in a career service title requiring a keyboarding, typing or stenography test. Judiciary staff in unclassified titles requiring a keyboarding, typing or stenography test.
Supplemental Information Driver’s License:
Appointee will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position. Authorization to

Residency Law:
In accordance with
N.J.S.A. 52
14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the “New Jersey First Act,” all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
