Step into the world of litigation with hands-on experience at a leading insurance defense firm. Degan, Blanchard & Nash is seeking Summer Law Clerks for our New Orleans office, offering a dynamic and immersive opportunity to sharpen your legal skills and gain valuable insight into the litigation process. What You’ll Experience As a Summer Law Clerk, you won’t just observe the legal process — you’ll be a part of it.
This program is designed to:
Expose you to a broad range of legal and procedural tasks in the insurance defense field Enhance your legal research and writing skills through real, substantive assignments Provide firsthand experience with litigation from initial case review to pre-trial preparations Support your professional development through mentorship and constructive feedback You’ll work closely with our attorneys and legal staff to: Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and pleadings Review and summarize medical records, discovery responses, and deposition transcripts Prepare correspondence and draft legal documents Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as an observer (when opportunities arise) Assist with paralegal-style tasks such as organizing case files, preparing trial notebooks, and contributing to case strategy sessions Participate in weekly check-ins and receive ongoing mentorship
