APPLICANT MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE CLERICAL ASSOCIATE

TITLE.The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) primary goal is to ensure that both parents financially support their children. OCSS accomplishes this by locating the absent parent, establishing paternity and child support orders, and collecting, and disbursing child support funds to those children. OCSE also services non-custodial parents who are unable to provide financial support due to unemployment and/or being underemployed by collaborating with community-based organizations that provide services as education, training and job placement for eligible parents. The establishment and enforcement of child support orders, combined with employment and other support, assists impoverished families gain financial independence and become self-sufficient.

Family Court Services is responsible for providing support services to non-cash assistance clients. These services include paternity and support establishment; summons services, support collection, enforcement and modification of court orders; and non-custodial location parent location searches. Family Court Support Services also refers non-custodial parents (NCP) to Support Through Employment Program (STEP), where NCP’s are referred to various vendors for job training and placement.

Under supervision of the Principal Administrative Associate I, with latitude for independent for independent judgment, the Clerical Associate III functions as the Senior Clerk performs multiple clerical tasks of a moderate degree of difficulty and responsibility for the Unit to ensure case information is correct and that client not receiving cash assistance. The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) is recruiting for one Clerical Associate III to function as a Senior Clerk who will

  • Retrieve and update data from the Child Support Management System (CSMS), Automated State Support and Enforcement Tracking System (ASSETS), and the Welfare Management System (WMS)
  • Respond to verbal inquiries and assist clients with questions regarding child support; review applications to ensure information is complete, correct and that client is noncash recipient; utilize database systems to ensure accurate information from other jurisdictions are properly recorded.
  • Screen, monitor and refer incoming calls to appropriate personnel/staff; relay messages while maintaining confidentiality
  • Send summons to client by mail and email summons to the Sheriff for service.
  • Format, enter, and maintain statistical and case information; prepare document for data entry, process and distribute document to the data entry clerk for timely production.
  • Prepare weekly statistical reports on unit activities and outstanding cases from the data entry clerk; perform other clerical duties as assigned.
CLERICAL ASSOCIATE
  • 10251QualificationsQualification Requirements A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.

Skills Requirement Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
