Job Description The two (2) year Law Library Fellowship allows an attorney or law school graduate to receive a stipend to complete a Masters in Information Science (or its functional equivalent) while employed as a full-time staff member in the Duncan School of Law Law Library. One of the goals of the fellowship is to diversify the law library profession by providing the opportunity to a member of a group traditionally underrepresented in the legal profession to become a dual-degree law librarian.
Required Qualifications J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and experience in an academic law library. Acceptance (upon on extension of offer) in a M.L.S. or functional equivalent ALA accredited program;
Preferred Qualifications Legal Research and/or Writing instruction experience; experience in law libraries.
Physical Demands Campus Duncan School of Law
Job Duty
Job Duty Provide reference services in both traditional and online environment;
Job Duty Assist librarians with class preparation and teaching, including developing assignments and exercises;
Job Duty Opportunity to teach sections of Legal Research after the first semester.
Job Duty Utilize educational technology, such as learning management software (LMS), video conferencing software (e.g. Zoom), among other technology to enhance learning in the classroom;
Job Duty Create and/or revise online research and subject resource guides;
Job Duty Create content for the Law Library s online presence (e.g., website, blog, other social media);
Job Duty Staff the library s virtual reference desk;
Job Duty Special projects with the other librarians; or
Job Duty Other experiences meeting the needs and interests of both the Duncan School of Law Library as well as the interests and prior experience of the fellow.
