Manages all phases of the department. Recruits and interviews applicants, ensures employees are properly trained to carry out their assigned duties and meet state training requirements. Resolves complaints and monitors work of subordinates, provides direction and training as needed. Also performs patrol duties and maintains positive public relations with the community. The police chief is accountable for the effective delivery of police services to the community.
