Job Description

Chief of Police Middlesex Township 133 Browns Hill Road, Valencia, PA 16059 Overview The Chief of Police serves as the highest-ranking officer in the police department, responsible for overseeing all law enforcement activities within the jurisdiction. This role requires a strong commitment to public safety, community engagement, and effective leadership. The Chief of Police will work closely with community leaders, government officials, and citizens to develop and implement policies that enhance public safety and improve community relations. Responsibilities Lead and manage all operations of the police department, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Develop and implement strategic plans to improve law enforcement services and community safety. Oversee personnel management including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations. Foster positive relationships with community members through outreach programs and public engagement initiatives. Ensure effective communication within the department and between the department and the community. Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively. Respond to critical incidents, providing leadership during emergencies or high-stress situations. Conduct investigations into complaints against officers or departmental practices. Stay informed about current trends in law enforcement, including developments in immigration law and animal handling. Qualifications Proven leadership experience in law enforcement or related fields. Strong skills in conflict management and crisis intervention. Proficiency in report writing and documentation practices. Knowledge of animal care and handling procedures is preferred. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required. Ability to drive effectively under various conditions; a valid driver’s license is essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on community engagement. A commitment to ethical policing practices and community-oriented policing strategies. Candidates should possess a strong dedication to serving the community while maintaining high standards of professionalism within the police force.

Job Type:
Full-time Pay:

$80,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
