(Sheriff) Shelby County Government – 3.6 Memphis, TN Job Details Full-time $4,872.33 – $6,495.50 a month 10 hours ago Qualifications Management 5 years Driver’s License Supervising experience Bachelor’s degree Business Administration Senior level Full Job Description Position Summary Works under the general direction of an assigned supervisor and is responsible for directing the overall maintenance of the facility and directs, schedules, and manages personnel in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the facility’s building structures and systems.

Pay Grade:

55 Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education Minimum Qualifications 1. Five (5) years’ experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity in facility maintenance; AND 2. Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, management or a closely related field; OR 3. An equivalent combination of related education, and/or experience. 4.

PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Performs management responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures; responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training appraising performance, discipline addressing complaints, and resolving problems. 2. Directs the work activities of all assigned employees in the section and is accountable for results. 3. Delegates authority to subordinate supervisors and holds them responsible for the performance of maintenance projects 4. Prepares an annual maintenance budget and prepares/reviews all major contracts involving maintenance. Continually reviews spending and inventory and monitors contractor compliance. 5. Determines resource needs and allocation of resources and accounts for their effective use. 6. Develops a timetable to ensure all work activities stay on projected implementation schedules. 7. Maintains American Correctional Association (ACA) standards for accreditation. Works closely with the ACA Manager to ensure all standards are being met and all required documentation is being maintained. 8. Provides data monthly for the Jail Report Card and reports on the data and the operation of the department in the monthly mid-level manager’s meeting 9. Maintains tracking system for preventive maintenance and work order/job completion using computerized systems (MP2 & JMS). 10. Works closely with specially licensed providers to ensure vital equipment remains operative. 11. Coordinates activities with other section managers of the department in order to meet departmental goals and objectives. 12. Assists the Administrator in the preparation and control of the section budget by developing costs and budget forecasts. 13. Performs other related duties as required or directed. KSAs 1. Knowledge of supervision, personnel management practices, and techniques. 2. Knowledge of the activities supervised. 3. Ability to coordinate and direct the activities of assigned personnel in the unit. 4. Managerial/leadership abilities. 5. Ability to prepare composite reports and make sound recommendations. 6. Ability to provide in-service training. Special Requirements 1. Must be able to work in a jail-secured environment. 2. Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License or secure one as of employment date.
