## OverviewThe City of Valdosta Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer. Position involves a variety of law enforcement tasks, including but not limited to, assure protection of people and property; patrols assigned geographic area of the city; responds to calls relayed by the dispatcher including domestic disputes, assaults, burglaries, traffic accidents, and others; conducts preliminary inquiries, field interviews, and follow-up investigations.## Qualifications#### Minimum Requirements
- At least 20 years of age
- A United States Citizen
- No felony convictions according to
O.C.G.A. 35-8-8
- No family violence related convictions according to
O.C.G.A. 19-13-1
- At least a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Drivers License
- Must satisfactorily complete a background investigation, oral interview, polygraph test, physical agility test, psychological and emotional stability test, pre-employment physical and drug screen
