The Deputy (Field Operations) position is aligned to the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, Field Operations Department, with responsibility for providing support for the Orleans Parish Criminal Court, Orleans Parish Civil Court, Magistrate Court and the Orleans Justice Center (pre-trial jail facility). Additionally, this position is conducive to emergency deployment assignment to the OPSO Orleans Justice Center, for which the incumbent shall be immediately available for duty at the direction and authorization of the Sheriff, when called upon.

SALARY The salary for the Deputy (Field Operations) will be aligned accordingly and commensurate with an applicant’s knowledge, skills, experience, certifications and education requirements of the subject position. This position is conducive to the Louisiana State Supplemental Pay for Commissioned Deputy Officers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Job Duties & Functions:
- As assigned, provides armed security services for the Orleans Parish Criminal Court, Orleans Parish Civil Court, Magistrate Court and Orleans Justice Center.
- Transports residents (inmates) to and from the Courts, and the Orleans Justice Center.
- Conducts searches of person and property as necessary to include inspecting inmates for contraband.
- Serves subpoenas, eviction notices, orders of protection and administer various court actions and orders.
- May administer search and seizures.
