As part of the professional healthcare team, the Police Departments mission is to protect and serve the patients, visitors and staff of all ECU Health entities in order to provide a high quality, cost effective and secure environment for the provision of quality patient care. Position Summary The Police Officer performs a complete range of law enforcement services for the ECU Police Department. Duties include patrols, criminal apprehension, preliminary and follow-up investigations, traffic enforcement, other tasks that aid in securing the hospital campus. This position is primarily assigned to report and work at a home region, but may be assigned to other regions as needed. Minimum Requirements High School plus 1 – 2 years of formal education/experience is required or higher. Basic Law Enforcement Training is required. Law Enforcement certification by the State of North Carolina. Must maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license. Minimum age of 20 years is required. Selected applicants must pass complete medical examination, psychological testing, and Police applicant background investigation. 1 to 3 years experience preferably in military, law enforcement, security experience / background is required. Other Information 40 hours per week
Monday – Friday (5:45 pm – 5:45 am)
Required to work rotational weekends and rotational holidays
