The Town of Boscawen offers a diverse patrol area with approximately 25 square miles, including approximately half a mile of inland waterway. Within the Town of Boscawen sits Route 3 and Route 4, and is in close proximity to I-93, and vehicle traffic through Town is measured in the tens of thousands. Boscawen borders the cities of Concord and Franklin. Boscawen is home to the beautiful State Veterans Cemetery as well as the Merrimack County facilities, including the Nursing Home, Sheriff’s Office, and Department of Corrections. The Boscawen Police Department is active in the community of over 4,000 and enjoys the support of its residents. The Boscawen Police Department believes in utilizing contemporary and progressive policing practices and is dedicated in the effort toward community engagement and interaction. We provide and utilize modern equipment, which is constantly being upgraded and improved, so that we can provide a first-rate service to our community. We offer several responsibility opportunities within the department and are supportive of enhanced training for officers and staff. Our department consists of 7 full-time officers and a full-time civilian administrator. We offer a competitive salary which is based on education and experience along with a very generous benefits package. Starting pay for an uncertified person is $27.35, with yearly annual increases. Certified and experienced candidates would start at a higher rate of pay. We participate in the New Hampshire State Retirement System.
