Police Officer Buffalo Township Police Department 109 Bear Creek Road, Sarver, PA 16055 Job Overview As a Police Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining public safety and enforcing the law within the community. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to protecting life and property, preventing crime, and upholding the rights of citizens. You will be responsible for responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, and engaging with the community to foster trust and cooperation. Duties Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity. Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents. Conduct thorough investigations of crimes and accidents, gathering evidence and preparing detailed reports. Enforce laws and regulations, including traffic laws and ordinances. Engage with community members to build relationships and address concerns. Handle animals in distress or involved in incidents, ensuring their safety and care. Utilize conflict management skills to de-escalate potentially volatile situations. Provide first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of individuals involved in incidents. Participate in ongoing training programs to stay current on law enforcement techniques, immigration law, and leadership skills. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or related fields is preferred. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass background checks, and drug screenings. Knowledge of animal handling techniques is advantageous. Strong report writing skills for documenting incidents accurately. Familiarity with conflict management strategies to effectively resolve disputes. Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable. Leadership qualities that demonstrate the ability to guide others in high-pressure situations. Willingness to engage in militarized training as required by department protocols.
