Police Officer – Full Time Upper Allen Township Police Department 100 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 The Police Officer is responsible for enforcing laws and maintaining order, ensuring the security and well-being of the community. Police Officer responsibilities include conducting investigations, making arrests, issuing tickets and handling emergencies. Most candidates are required to complete a training program before entering the force. The ideal candidate should be a good problem solver, be able to work well under pressure and have excellent communication skills. Since a police officer will work in a collaborative environment with other local authorities, excellent teamwork skills are preferred.

Responsibilities:

Performs as a member of a mobile force to protect life and property and enforce laws and ordinances. Conducts patrols by car or on foot, observing and gathering intelligence to enhance department awareness. Responds to calls for service from the community, providing assistance and protection while maintaining order. Provides enforcement of the law through court appearances; issuance of citations, arrests and other activities to assist in prosecution. Handles situations including fights, crowd control, missing persons, traffic enforcement, accidents, suspicious activity, evidence collection and crime scenes. Processes crime scenes for evidence and protection of the scene, interview witnesses and gather information pertaining to crime.
