Full Job Description Position Summary:

Our Birmingham office has an opportunity for an experienced Government Contracts Attorney to join the firm’s dynamic and long-established practice representing premier local and national employers. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys who are proactive and passionate about assuming a high-level role providing legal service within a sophisticated practice and who are seeking to assume a significant role. This role requires extensive contact with clients, governmental agencies and opposing counsel. Duties include, but are not limited to, legal research, drafting pleadings, and representing clients in all phases of government procurement claims, and other government-related litigation, as well as advising contractors on government compliance matters. The right candidate will have a passion for government contracting legal issues, strong analytical and writing skills, and an ability to relate to and inspire confidence with sophisticated business clients. Requirements:

Juris Doctor degree. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state in which they are located. During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice. Candidates must possess 8+ years of experience with government contracting. In-depth knowledge and experience advising on federal and state acquisition and procurement matters, as well as knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), the False Claims Act, and/or investigations/protests related to federal, state, and local government procurement law. Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills are required. Please note, we are not working with outside recruiters for this position.
