Summary We are seeking a Litigation Unit Leader to join our dynamic team at Zarzaur & Schwartz, P.C. This role is pivotal in overseeing unit operations and ensuring that our core values are upheld while driving success in legal collections. The ideal candidate will play a key role in fostering teamwork and maintaining high standards of service. Responsibilities Responsible for the litigation process, including but not limited to o Leader within Zarzaur and Schwartz, PC and Litigation Support Unit, supporting the Zarzaur and Schwartz mission and core values, leading by example and reinforcing the mission and core values with staff, as well as peers and executive management. o Serves as point of contact between VP-Legal Operations, litigation support staff, attorneys, paralegals, other unit leaders and executive management. Works with VP-Legal Operations to assure timely production goals are being met. o Respond to all questions, issues and status checks throughout the litigation process, escalating as necessary and helping resolve all issues. o Helps define business/technical requirements for specific litigation matters. Diagnose and correct systems and network problems related to litigation services. o Proactively meet litigation support needs of firm personnel. Communicate with VP-Legal Operations, attorneys and other firm personnel to ensure litigation support needs are being met and resources are being used efficiently and effectively. o Build and manage relationship with courts, vendors and associate attorneys. o Recognizes complex technical issues, reaches appropriate conclusions and applies reason or authority to support conclusions. o Work with VP-Legal Operations, other units, clients, courts and executive management to create best practices, resolve issues and meet court and client goals and requirements. o Responsible for ensuring that all firm and client requirements and deliverables are tracked and met in a timely and accurate manner, escalating any issues that will prevent achievement of any service level. o Developing and implementing best practices within the litigation support unit. o Provide support in documenting firm and client business requirements, and ensure the operationalization of those requirements o Meet or exceed goals, milestones, and timeliness of specific metrics and maintain regular reports o Provide support in helping drive client results by helping develop and implement best practices to ensure client requirements are met, firm efficiencies are achieved, and drives important improvement initiatives throughout the organization o Keeps abreast of relevant industry landscape changes and advancements, stays abreast of industry news, contributes to staff development by sharing industry knowledge o Compliance – keeps up to date on all firm, client, industry and regulatory compliance requirements, helping ensure that all process and protocols meet compliance requirements, proactively communicating compliance concerns/issues to appropriate contacts and help teaches the impact of these requirements to all staff. o Establish appropriate plans, metrics and goals. Execute and meet or exceed defined targets. o Lead, supervise and manage staff related to the litigation support unit. Experience

  • Collections or recoveries experience a plus
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in business, banking, insurance, and/or legal environment
  • Project management experience in a litigation environment with extensive knowledge of the litigation process and understanding of the use of the technology in litigation support.
