The firm has earned a strong reputation in the region for its commitment to their clients and a culture that revolves around support and internal growth. Only candidates with direct experience in bankruptcy law and/or probate law will be considered for this position, as the firm also specializes in that area of practice. About the Firm Locally owned and operated with deep ties to the Hartford legal community Team of four experienced attorneys, each supported by a dedicated paralegal and assistant Transparent and professional environment where attorneys are empowered to grow their practice Practice areas include bankruptcy, probate, estate planning, and related fields Position Overview The incoming associate will take on an existing caseload and must have prior experience in bankruptcy law, or a blend of bankruptcy and probate. The firm is looking for someone who can work independently while being part of a close-knit and collaborative team after being brought up to speed. Key Responsibilities Manage a full caseload of bankruptcy matters from start to finish Work collaboratively with in-house paralegals and assistants Provide clear and compassionate legal counsel to clients Contribute to the firm’s reputation of excellence through professional and ethical legal practice Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Active license to practice law in Connecticut in good standing with no previous complaints At least 1-3 years of experience in bankruptcy or probate law required Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage client relationships with professionalism and empathy Benefits & Compensation Salary range: $100,000 – $140,000+ annually, based on experience Quarterly performance-based bonuses Salary review after 6 months 401(k) plan with employer matching Health insurance with 50% employer coverage Paid time off and paid holidays No strict billable requirement, but target of ~30 billable hours/week after ramp-up Fully in-person at the firm’s Hartford, CT office Apply today to learn more about this excellent opportunity!
