15-20 hours per week to start About the Opportunity We are a woman-owned law firm specializing in family law and child protection, seeking a Part-Time Contract Attorney to assist with court appearances, case preparation, and client advocacy. This role starts at 15-20 hours per week, making it an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking for part-time work with flexible hours. Key Responsibilities As a Part-Time Contract Attorney, your responsibilities will include: Representing clients in family law and child protection cases, including custody disputes and DCF investigations. Preparing clients for hearings, meetings, and legal proceedings. Drafting legal documents, such as motions and memorandums. Conducting legal research and developing case strategies. Attending court hearings and DCF meetings and advocating for clients’ best interests. Maintaining regular communication with clients, providing updates and guidance. Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal standards. Ideal Candidate Qualifications We are looking for an attorney who: Is licensed to practice law in Connecticut. Has experience in family law or child protection (preferred but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate). Demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills. Has a compassionate approach to working with families and children. Can work independently but values collaboration when needed. What Makes This Role Unique?
