Job Summary:
The Valuation & Capital Market Analysis (“VCMA”)Managing Director is responsible for providing expert opinions onthe value of businesses, securities, and other assets in thecontext of legal disputes. In this role, the Managing Director isactively engaged in the management of business valuationassignments and managing staff in the development of suchassignments. In addition, the Managing Director will be leadingbusiness development activities to grow this segment of the VCMApractice.
Job Duties:
Provides expert opinions on the value ofbusinesses, securities, and other assets in legal disputes,including shareholder disputes, mergers and acquisitions,bankruptcy, and estate planning (probate) Provides expert witnesstestimony in court and other legal proceedings Conducts complexvaluations and financial analysis, and prepares expert reports andother documentation to support expert opinions Executes personalbusiness development plan in conjunction with practice leadershipwhich includes building and maintaining relationships with clientsand legal counsel, and participating in business developmentactivities to grow the practice Understands how to work withAlliance Firms and coordinates with international firms asappropriate on opportunities as they arise Stays current onrelevant regulations, legal cases, and best practices to ensureengagement teams are delivering high quality work Other duties asrequired
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises the day-to-dayworkload of VCMA staff on assigned engagements and reviews workproduct Ensures VCMA staff are trained on all relevant valuationdatabases and models Evaluates the performance of VCMA staff andassists in the development of goals and objectives to enhanceprofessional development Delivers periodic performance feedback andcompletes performance evaluations for VCMA staff Acts as CareerAdvisor to VCMA staff, as appropriate
Qualifications, Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting,Finance, or Economics, required Master’s in BusinessAdministration, preferred
Experience:
Fifteen (15) or more years ofexperience in business valuation, with ten (10) or more years inlitigation support, required Direct testifying experience•hearings, depositions, and trials, required
License/Certifications:
CPA, CFA, ASA, or other valuation industry credential, required
Software:
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite,specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, required Experience withCapital IQ and Bloomberg, preferred
Languages:
