The ideal candidate will be dedicated to helping clients navigate the complexities of estate planning, elder law, and long-term care planning. This role involves providing legal advice and services in areas such as wills, trusts, probate, guardianship, Medicaid planning, and elder abuse. The attorney will work closely with clients to understand their personal circumstances and develop tailored solutions that protect their assets and ensure their wishes are carried out.

Key Responsibilities :
Estate Planning :

Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other estate planning documents.

Elder Law :

Advise clients on elder law issues, including Medicaid and long-term care planning, guardianship, conservatorship, and elder abuse protection.

Probate and Trust Administration :

Guide clients through the probate process, assist with the administration of estates and trusts, and resolve any disputes that may arise.

Client Counseling :

Meet with clients to discuss their legal needs, explain options, and develop comprehensive plans to address their estate planning and elder law concerns.

Legal Research and Compliance :

Stay updated on relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and best practices in estate planning and elder law to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice.

Community Engagement :

Participate in community events, seminars, and other activities to educate the public about estate planning and elder law issues and build relationships within the community.

Collaboration :

Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver high-quality legal services to clients.

Qualifications :

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in [State] and in good standing with the state bar. 3+ years of experience in estate planning, elder law, probate, or a related field. Strong knowledge of estate planning principles, elder law, Medicaid rules, and probate procedures. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in an understandable manner. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with compassion and professionalism. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.

Preferred Skills :

Certification in elder law or estate planning (e.g., CELA – Certified Elder Law Attorney) is a plus. Experience working with diverse populations, including older adults and individuals with disabilities. Bilingual abilities are a plus.
