This is an exciting opportunity to represent clients in a fast-paced, high volume legal environment. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a range of criminal defense cases, including providing court representation, relaying plea offers, reviewing discovery, preparing and filing motions, and engaging directly with prospective clients. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic legal setting. Fluency in Spanish is a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in court, including hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings. Communicate with clients, providing updates on case status and legal options. Review and analyze discovery documents to ensure thorough case preparation. Draft and file legal motions, documents, and pleadings. Engage with prospective clients, conduct initial consultations, and provide legal advice. Relay plea offers and negotiate on behalf of clients. Maintain detailed case files and case management systems.
Job Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the Florida Bar. 1-3 years of experience in criminal defense or a related field (preferred but not required). Fluency in Spanish is required to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented, with the ability to think critically and solve complex legal issues. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues. A commitment to providing high-quality legal services and client satisfaction.
