POSITION
Construction Litigation /Defect The attorney position requires a person who can handle construction cases. An understanding of Fla. Stat. 558 claims and evaluations, construction defect, inspections, litigation, discovery, and depositions. Further, the candidate must have strong writing skills for reporting, pleading, and motion practice. Must be a member of the Florida Bar, have 2-5 years of experience in construction litigation and/or litigation experience. The candidate should be proficient with preparing and revising discovery demands, responses, and taking both fact and expert witness depositions. They must understand basic construction, defense and indemnification principles as well as how OCIPs and CCIPs work. The candidate must be able to work well with others, be part of team, and to fill in when needed. Strong organizational skills are a must, and they must be proficient with following up to ensure requests sent to client, carriers, opposing counsels, the Court, experts and others. Additionally, they should be proficient with billing and input billing entries as they work, and work is completed. The billable hour minimum per month is 180 hours. Experience with Outlook, Adobe, and Word is a plus. Experience using MyCase would be an extra plus. Excellent writing skills required to prepare reports and emails to clients and insurance carriers that provide thorough analysis of the claims, cases, and developments as they arise. Further, they must review, and revise letters prepared by the administrative assistants concerning notifications to clients and carriers of claim/case events, hearings, depositions, meetings, mediations, conferences, and other administrative tasks.
