The Role:

As Chief Legal Counsel, you will be at the forefront of our legal and compliance efforts. You will provide strategic legal advice to our executive team, manage legal risks, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Your expertise will guide our operations, helping us to maintain our reputation as a trusted partner in revenue cycle management. Duties Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with overall legal matters and legal activities relating to receivable management. Review aging receivable reports and compile appeals to payors and regulatory authorities. Familiarize with Fair Debt Collection Practice Act and provide training to the staff. Familiarize with Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act and provide training to the staff. File third party claims when necessary. File probates when necessary. Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with senior management, and staff members as necessary. Monitor external legal partners to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits. Monitor and assist with the quality program. Manage legal hours on files for the purpose of rebilling and reporting. Provide general legal advice on business matters. Direct and coordinate receivables that require legal escalation, including filing complaints and lawsuits with appropriate agencies. Confer and conduct cost containment with outside counsel. Negotiate and settle receivables in accordance with standards and regulations developed by the company, clients and regulatory authorities. Develop and implement procedures for litigation management. Provide regular updates to senior management, staff, and clients on legal cases. Provide management reports on receivable management pertaining to cases assigned for legal. Prepare invoices for special billing pertaining to legal fees. Experience Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in practicing law in managed care and revenue cycle management including strong knowlege in ERISA & Medicare. Strong payor relationships. Strong research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues effectively. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful case outcomes. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction .
